Uni Engineers Company (U) Ltd

SANDBLASTING AND PAINTING

Uni Engineers provides a wide range of sandblasting, priming and painting services to meet your requirements. Blasting will remove all rust, corrosion, old paint and dirt leaving the surface ideal to proceed with the new coating. Depending on the purposes, steel can be coated to provide increased durability, chemical resistance or tarnish resistance and other advantages. We comply with with safety, health and environment management systems and standard. We can operate blasting both at our well built facility or at the client’s site. We grit blast to the Swedish standards SA 2.5 surface preparation or as per the customer’s requirements. Coating can be in accordance with Engineering standards GC12 (10.1) or as recommended by our clients.

ROLLING

Our UNI experts perform the rolling of plates as of required radius and width. Our rolling machines provide several options for rolling any widths and thicknesses. We comply with with safety, health and environment management systems and standard.
Our fully experienced team works to the highest standards. We are fully committed to provide a professional service and ensure that all surfaces will effectively be treated. We use a wide range of different primers and paints to achieve the maximum results every time.

BEVELLING

Bevelling of pipes or plates is usually done to prepare the ends for welding. We follow the welding procedure specification (WPS) that dictates the bevelling methodology We use various types of bevelling tools, for example Shearing tool or Milling head with inserts.
Pipe bevelling
Similarly, with pipes whose walls are of a certain thickness, say more than 3 mm, bevelling machines are needed for weld preparation. Therefore, on pipes with walls thicker than 3 mm, bevel is made to make the outer edge inclined so that two pipes can be joined together by welding.

QUALITY CONTROLS

  • MAGNETIC PARTICLE TEST
Magnetic particle inspection (often abbreviated MT or MPI) is a nondestructive inspection method that provides detection of linear flaws located at or near the surface of ferromagnetic materials. It is viewed primarily as a surface examination method. Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a very effective method for location of surface breaking and slight sub-surface defects such as cracking, pores, cold lap, lack of sidewall fusion in welds etc in magnetic materials.
  • DYE PENETRATION TEST
Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) is widely used to detect surface breaking flaws.
Dye Penetration Testing
Dye Penetration Testing
This non-destructive testing technique, also known as liquid penetrant inspection (LPI), is a cost-effective method used to locate surface breaking flaws such as cracks, porosity, laps, seams and other surface discontinuities. Dye penetrant inspection can be applied to both ferrous and non-ferrous materials and all non-porous materials (metals, plastics or ceramics).
  • VACUUM BOX TEST
Vacuum box testing is a non-destructive examination used when trying to locate weld seam leaks. A vacuum box and a compressor create a high or low pressure vacuum while a detergent solution is applied to the test area. The detergent bubbles, making leaks visible within the created pressure envelope. All inspections are conducted within the parameters or to client specifications. UNI ENGINEERS APPLIES VACUUM BOX TESTING TO INSPECT
  • Lap welds, butt welds, and shell to annular welds
  • Piping systems and pressure vessels
  • Tank bottoms
  • ERW seamed pipe in pipelines
  • Objects on which a pressure differential can be created across the area to be examined
  • POST WELD HEAT TEST
The use of post-weld treatment helps to reduce if not redistribute the stress brought on by the process. The technique uses soaking, heating, and cooling of the machined surface or weldment to control temperatures. Doing this helps to improve the properties of the machined or weldment surface. However, there are a couple of other benefits to its application which include:
  • Improving the ductility of the materials
  • Reducing the instances brittle fractures
  • Tempered metal
  • Improves and in some cases reduces the metal’s hardness
  • Improve metallurgical properties
  • The prevention of cracking caused by hydrogen by its removal
  • HYDRO TESTING
At Uni Engineers, We perform Hydrostatic (Hydro) testing on all components such as piping systems, gas cylinders, boilers, and pressure vessels to check for strength and leaks.
  • HOLIDAY TEST
Holiday testing is a non-destructive test method applied on protective coatings to detect unacceptable discontinuities such as pinholes and voids. The test involves checking an electric circuit to see if current flows to complete the circuit.

  • DFT TEST
Dry Film Thickness is probably the most critical measurement in the coatings industry. It provides vital information as to the expected life of the substrate, the product’s fitness for purpose, its appearance and ensures compliance with a host of International Standards.
  • RADIOGRAPHY TEST
Radiography Test usually is suitable for testing welded joints that can be accessed from both sides, with the exception of double-wall signal image techniques used on some pipe. Although this is a slow and expensive NDT method, it is a dependable way to detect porosity, inclusions, cracks, and voids in weld interiors. Radiography Test makes use of X-rays or gamma rays. X-rays are produced by an X-ray tube, and gamma rays are produced by a radioactive isotope.
